This collection of information and links to resources exists to facilitate and support the creation of optimal learning and teaching environments through the appropriate integration of education technologies.
Mission Statement
The Faculty Development and Student Technology Support initiative will:
- Seek to understand so as to gain valuable data upon which to make decision involving teaching, learning and technology integration in the RCOE.
- Encourage interdependence, sustainability, diversity of styles and ways of knowing.
- Facilitates learning that is active, individualized and self-rewarding.
- Rethink problems as opportunities in ways that focus and organize on core principles, the RCOE Conceptual Framework and not on isolated fragments of the system.
- Value cooperation, collaboration, community, quality, conservation and simplicity.
- Encourage continual construction and renewal to accommodate change, emerging tools, technologies and effective ways of doing and knowing, teaching and learning.
- Celebrate fluency with instructional technologies.

- The NETS-T
Letter to Candidates was given to candidates attending the Orientation
for Prospective Student Teachers, Fall 2007 and Spring 2008 session
on November 1st at the Broyhill Inn and Conference Center and distributed at the Student Teacher Meeting on the 11th of January 2008.
- Read general
information on the
technology requirement for student teaching and licensure with links to resource and some
frequently asked question. This is a good place to
start to learn about the technology expectations for

- The
National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers
(NETS-T) are
the standards and performance indicators used to assess student competence
with teaching and learning technologies.
- The
NETS-T with questions to help you identify artifacts and write rationales are
Jeff Goodman's suggestions for Elementary Block students.
- The RCOE Completion
Form for the National Educational Technology Standards is the check
sheet that must be completed and returned to the Office of Field
Services.
- The RCOE
NETS-T Self Appraisal is a standards aligned technology self assessment
taken during CI/SPE 2800 and student teaching. The results are emailed
upon completion and submission of the form.
- The NETS-T worksheet for secondary
programs is a word document to help students collect, organize and
reflect on technology artifacts.
- The NETS-T/INTASC
Teaching Telefolio Template (Zipped version) is a website template
for a standards based collection of products and rationales organized
with both a table of contents by artifact and by standard. Please
contact John Spagnolo for help using and publishing this telefolio
template. There are examples linked below.
- TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION
IN TEACHER EDUCATION is a document that describes RCOE's efforts
at education technology implementation and assessment for undergraduate
teacher preparation.
- The NC Advanced Technology
Competencies/NETS-T/INTASC Alignment Document was
created by the NC Teacher Education Technology Council
(TETC) and is useful when aligning the OLD NC Advanced Technology
Competencies with the NETS-T and ITASC standards.
- The Online Resources for
the NETS-T site @NC State is an excellent collection to visit
for NETS aligned resources.
