Communication Disorders Prerequisites

Sequence of Study for Out of Field Students

The following courses (or their equivalents from other universities) must be completed prior to beginning the standard graduate coursework sequence.

CD 2260 Anatomy and Physiology of the Speech and Hearing Mechanism (3 sh)
CD 2361 Phonetics (3 sh)
CD 2464 Basic Speech Hearing Science (3 sh)
CD 2465 Basic Speech & Hearing Laboratory (1 sh)
CD 3162 Structural Analysis of Language (3 sh)
CD 3163 Structural Analysis of Language Laboratory (1sh)
CD 3366 Communication Development (3 sh)
CD 5364 Audiology (3 sh)*
CD 5662 Management of Hearing Disorders (3 sh)*

Most out-of-field students completing the program will complete a sequence similar to the sample sequences below, although other sequences are possible as well.
