Admissions Procedure for Masters in Reading Education Program

Admission to the Cratis Williams Graduate School:

Information on admissions, including all necessary forms, can be found on Graduate School Web site for prospective students:

Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university is required.

In addition to the Graduate School requirements, the Reading Program requires:

For the Classroom/Clinical concentration, applicants must hold, or be eligible to hold, a North Carolina “A” teaching license or the equivalent from another state. A copy of the current teaching license must be submitted as part of the application.

A Letter of Intent, specifying current teaching position and teaching goals as well as reasons for seeking admission to the reading program must be submitted as part of the application.

GPA of 3.0 or higher cumulative or in the last 60 hours of undergraduate work
and official Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores from Educational Testing
Services or official Millers Analogy Test (MAT) scores from Harcourt Assessment,
with scores of 390 or higher on the MAT, or at least 2 of the following minimum
GRE scores: GREV=400, GREQ=400, GREW=3.5

OR:

GPA below 3.0 but above 2.69 in the last 60 hours of undergraduate work and
official MAT scores of 400 or higher, or at least 2 of the following minimum GRE
scores: GREV=400, GREQ=400, GREW=3.5

(Note: Admission is on a competitive basis.)

Deadline:

15 March for Fall; 15 September for Spring and Summer.
