We walk this path together!

The Community Counseling program is typically a 2 to 3 year program.  During this time of commitment to personal and professional growth, our students often remark on the sense of ‘community’ they develop with one another.  Admission to the Community Counseling program is quite competitive, and we believe our students are a significant aspect of our success as a professional counselor preparation program.

Here, you will find updates of student achievements (i.e. awards & honors) as well as profiles of featured students selected to demonstrate the variety of interests and backgrounds within our student community.

My Experience at App:

I have found the faculty to be knowledgeable, caring, and extremely interested in the personal welfare and the professional development of students. I value the wide variety of their professional work experiences in different settings such as community mental health, schools, prisons, treatment centers, and private practice. I have also appreciated the diversity of experience of my classmates and the sense of community that we have developed."

Awards: Steve was awarded the '06-'07 Mary Thomas Burke Award (Graduate Student Recognition) for his outstanding committment to the counseling profession. Congratulations Steve!
