Program of Study

Sunday, September 07, 2008

The Program of Study (POS) is a form listing the courses a student intends to take and serves as a contract between the student and the university. The Registrar checks each POS before graduation to ensure that students have fulfilled their part of the contract by taking all courses listed on the form.

The POS is completed near the conclusion of a student's first year of study or beginning of the second year, following consultation with the Director of the Doctoral Program. Elective courses at the 5000, 6000, or 7000 level may be included.

The doctoral student submits the POS to the Director of the Doctoral Program who sends three signed copies to the Graduate School. A student's Program of Study may be altered by completing a Program of Study Change form. This form is available via the link below.
